New IDC MarketScape Shows Higher Growth for the SAP Implementation Services Ecosystem Will Come from Implementation of New Technologies
10 Jul 2012
FRAMINGHAM, Mass. July 10, 2012 – International Data
Corporation (IDC) has published a new MarketScape report
profiling and ranking the leading vendors participating in the worldwide SAP
implementation ecosystem. This research found that on the long-term front
worldwide, consulting firms have developed solid cost-benefit analysis to
facilitate an increased adoption of their SAP implementation services portfolio
by clients.
"With large
strategic transformational projects getting fewer and further between, higher
growth for the SAP implementation services will be coming from implementation
of new technologies, namely HANA, mobility, and implementation of vertical- and
functional-specific Rapid Deployment Solutions," says Ali Zaidi, senior
analyst, IT
Consulting and Systems Integration Business Strategies at IDC.
The report, IDC MarketScape: Worldwide
SAP Implementation Ecosystem 2012 Vendor
Analysis (IDC #235682), evaluates the 12 largest SAP applications
systems integrators – Accenture,
Capgemini, CSC, Deloitte, Fujitsu, HCL, HP, IBM, Infosys, PWC, TCS and Wipro.
The IDC MarketScape
methodology placed Accenture and IBM in the "Leaders" category.
Accenture's ability to utilize proven methodologies and tools as well as their
capability to provide technical insights and competence helped place them as one
of the leading implementers and innovators of SAP globally. For IBM, their ability
to integrate their own team with that of the client's on a project and their capability
to provide a full spectrum of SAP services (consulting, outsourcing, hosting,
support services) scored high with buyer perceptions.
"IDC believes
the traditional lines between software and service providers are blurring, more
so now since SAP is allowing large systems integrators to sell SAP software directly,
and SAP services itself is being brought into customer discussions at a more strategic
level than just software implementation. The best practice becomes when systems
integrators and SAP can work together seamlessly to deliver a client solution,"
said Gard Little,
research director, IT Consulting and
Systems Integration Business Strategies at IDC.
