Kaoru Fukuda is Senior Market Analyst for IDC's Japan IT Spending Group, based in Tokyo. In this role, he is responsible for the market analysis of IT Spending by Vertical Market Segments, IT Spending by Vertical Market Segments and by Company Size, Vendor Business Portfolio and Strategies, and Multi Client Survey for Japan IT Spending Guides and Customer Strategies. His main area of research includes IT Spending market forecast and trends for the Japan Retail and Manufacturing industry.

Prior to joining IDC Japan, Fukuda held various positions in a US computer vendor organization and, before that, a market research and advisory firm, where he gained strong research experience covering products such as mobile phones, PCs, digital cameras, printers/ copy machines, cars and many others. Fukuda conducted many research projects during his tenure, some of which were aimed at understanding consumers' needs and their usage of products.

Kaoru Fukuda holds a Bachelor's degree from Kobe City University of Foreign Studies and a Master's degree of Business from Hosei University, both in Japan.
