Naveen Hegde is a Research Manager with IDC's Asia/Pacific Software Group. Based in Bangalore, Naveen focuses on the latest market change and development of the security appliance and security software and other related software markets in the Asia/Pacific (Excluding Japan) region. He is responsible for tracking the market, identifying key market trends, evaluating vendor market share, competitive landscape, forecast outlooks as well as major vendor's activities and developments. Together with a team of country analysts, Naveen tracks and analyzes key dynamics and opportunities within these market areas in the region.

Prior to joining IDC, Naveen was with a research company, based in Bangalore, providing research findings and objective insights to Fortune 500 companies. Before that, he was a Research Analyst at The Institute for Social and Economic Change, an autonomous research institution that provides policy suggestions to governments as well as international organizations.

Naveen holds a Master's degree in Economics with Econometrics and a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Karnatak University, Dharwad, India. He has published a number of research papers in reputed journals and presented several research papers in various seminars. He has been regularly quoted in various media publications.
