Masahiro Katayama has more than 27 years of technical experience in the Information and Communication Technology industry.

In his role as the Research Manager for the PC, Mobile & Client Solution Group, he analyzes and forecasts the client computing and platforms. He covers Personal Computing, Personal workstation, Mobile phone, Monitor, Thin Client and Desktop virtualization in Japan. Masahiro also serves as a representative on IDC's worldwide PC research team.

Before joining IDC Japan, Mr. Katayama served at IBM Japan for 23 years. In this period his role was involved in PC product marketing, liquid crystal display development and LSI engineering. After that, he was a responsible for Product Marketing of Desktop PCs and Peripherals at Lenovo Japan.

Masahiro holds a Bachelor of Science degree from University of Electro-Communications, Applied Physics, Japan.
