Romain Fouchereau joined IDC in 2006 as research analyst for the European Enterprise Server Group based in London.
Fouchereau specializes in monitoring the security server appliance market in Western Europe and maintains IDC's extensive tracker product for this technology. Specific technology focus areas include firewall/VPN, IDS/IPS, and unified threat management (UTM) appliances. Fouchereau also manages IDC's Security Appliances continuous intelligence service. Of particular focus for Fouchereau is the development, evolution, and penetration of this technology and the approaches vendors are taking to stimulate adoption both at channel and end-user level.
Fouchereau joined IDC from a manufacturing industry company, where he specialized in market research consultancy. Within this role he handled go-to-market projects for a variety of products, focusing on the French and Italian markets. He also maintained processor databooks and the organisation's market profiling tools.
Fouchereau has a master's in architecture and design from the School of Architecture in Bordeaux, including a year's study in Italy. Romain also project managed administration within an architectural studio.
