As research manager for IDC CEMA's storage service, Pavel Roland oversees all storage systems-related research, consulting, and development. Additionally, he manages the IDC EMEA IT Black Book program, which provides an overview of the entire IT markets for the region.
Roland has been with IDC since 2004. Prior to taking on his current role, he was responsible for the standard research, analysis, and consulting engagements of vertical markets and SMB markets in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Also as a member of the Systems group, which conducts research covering PCs, servers, workstations, and storage, he gathered and analyzed data for quarterly trackers and annual studies that focused on the Middle East and Africa region.
Before joining IDC, Roland worked with a research group that dealt with application services providers, where he conducted focus-group surveys on the CRM markets in the Czech Republic.
Roland holds a Masters degree in economic policy and information management from the University of Economics in Prague.
