Based in IDC's Prague office, Torben Pedersen joined IDC CEMA in March 2001. As the Associate Vice President Consulting for the CEMA region, he is responsible for the development and management of consulting projects for all technology groups and country markets.
Pedersen has led several large-scale consulting projects in both Eastern Europe and the Middle East. His projects have included evaluating emerging market opportunities, product requirements, and market segmentations in support of business planning.
Prior to taking up the position as consulting director, Pedersen worked in several IT technology divisions, completing reports on Hungarian and North African PC and computer systems, the Baltic and Middle East EAS markets, and the UAE and Saudi Arabian IT services markets. He was also involved in a large number of consulting projects across the region. Having worked in IDC's Middle East and Africa head office in Dubai for two years, he has extensive knowledge and insight into the Middle East and African IT markets.
Prior to joining IDC, Pedersen worked for the European Commission in Brussels, Belgium, and for a Paris-based law-publishing firm.
Pedersen holds an MA in economics with a specialization in European transition economies from the University of Copenhagen, Denmark. In addition to English and his native Danish, he is fluent in French.
