Mette Ahorlu is research director for IDC's European Services Group. She provides research and consulting services primarily to IT services vendors and investment banks.
Ahorlu is responsible for the European Datacenter Life-Cycle Services program, which covers key topics such as datacenter transformation and cloud infrastructure services, taking a holistic view of the different types of services involved, ranging from consulting and implementation to outsourcing, managed services and support.
Ahorlu's research on datacenter life-cycle services focuses on opportunities and challenges for service providers, strategies and positioning, and end-user demands and needs, providing information and advice to support business plans and go-to-market activities. She is an experienced public speaker and regularly presents at IDC conferences, IDC partner and end-user events, and IT-user association conferences.
Ahorlu has more than 15 years' experience in her field and over 20 years' experience in the industry. She worked for IDC Nordic in telecoms and later services research for 10 years until joining the European services team in 2005.
Prior to joining IDC, she worked for Ericsson in Denmark and UNI-C, the Danish University Computing Center. She holds a master's in comparative literature from Copenhagen University.
