David Tapper serves as Program Vice President for IDC's Outsourcing Services research team. Mr. Tapper manages a group of analysts dedicated to developing research for IT outsourcing, business process outsourcing (BPO), and global sourcing, also referred to as offshore/nearshore. Within IT outsourcing, the team covers large-scale IS/data center outsourcing, network and desktop outsourcing (NDOS), application outsourcing and hosting, custom application development (CAD), and testing services. Within BPO, the team covers customer care, finance and accounting (F&A), and procurement BPO services. Additionally, this group provides research on emerging services areas including mobility, social media, hosted contact center services, analytics, cloud and R&D/product engineering. Mr. Tapper also provides strategic thought leadership on the transformation of the services industry to newer models of delivery including cloud computing and SaaS (Software-as-a-Service).


Prior to joining IDC, Mr. Tapper served as a Product Manager and Database Manager at Yankee Publishing, Inc. Mr. Tapper earned a Master of Business Administration from Northeastern University and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Rochester.
