Anna Toncheva
Program Manager and Economist, IT Markets and Strategies Group
|
Anna Toncheva is a program manager and economist with the IT Markets and Strategies group in IDC's Global Research Organization. In this role, Anna's primary focus will be on researching how economic developments impact IT investment strategies. This includes research in support of IDC's Leading IT Indicators and Worldwide Black Book programs as well as the Information Society Index among other global projects. Previously, Ms Toncheva was a Program Manager for IDC's Software and Systems Vertical Research program where she managed a portfolio of two CIS programs, catering to the research needs of more than 20 technology vendors. Ms. Toncheva’s focus was on identifying and assessing the critical economic and business issues that influence IT investment decisions of corporate users and translating these into recommendations on vertical market positioning and strategy of IT vendors.
Ms. Toncheva also developed high-resolution predictive models of IT spending in various industries, including IDC’s Software Vertical Model and the Life Sciences Green Book.
Prior to joining IDC in July 2000, Ms. Toncheva was with the Department of Economics at the University of Connecticut where she taught microeconomics and macroeconomics. In addition, she has also contributed to several economic development projects and market assessment studies of the Connecticut Center for Economic Analysis. Ms. Toncheva has also worked for the Economic Development Institute of the World Bank where she developed a detailed knowledge of how different economic environments impact industry trends.
Ms. Toncheva has completed the Ph.D.course requirements of the Department of Economics, University of Connecticut. She also holds a Masters degree in Economics from the Western Illinois University, Macomb and an MBA with a concentration in International Tourism Management from the Institute for National Economy, Varna, Bulgaria.
Ms Toncheva is fluent in the Bulgarian, Russian and German Languages.
