Lionel Lamy is associate vice president in IDC's European Software and Services Group. In this role, he is responsible for two research programs focusing on the workplace and network life cycle services segments. Specific areas of research include IT infrastructure transformation, cloud, client and network virtualization, software defined networking solutions, and managed services, as well as consulting, integration, and support services.

The impact of mobility and consumerization also fall within Lamy's broad services remit, both on the network and the workplace side.

Furthermore, over the years, Lamy has been involved in research on datacenter and security services as well as service level management issues. He is a frequent and recognized presenter at conferences and customer events, and is heavily involved in delivering consulting to vendors as well as the end-user community.

Prior to joining IDC in 1999, Lamy spent four years with Fujitsu Services as desktop service development manager — developing standard services. Prior to that, Lamy was a market research and European business planning manager in the outsourcing division of Fujitsu. He has a degree in marketing and international business from Angers Business School in France.
