State of the Market: Mid-Year 2012 IT Spending Review & Forecast

Despite the persistent economic uncertainty, global IT markets entered the year on a wave of cautious optimism after the strong performance of 2011. Hardware shipments, new software sales, and project-based IT services looked on course to defy the sense of pessimism and anxiety which had once again begun to cloud other sectors of the global economy. Did this momentum hold strong in the first half of 2012, or has IT spending begun to show signs of weakness and slowdown? IT markets in Europe were already in retreat, but to what extent has this downward cycle spread to other regions? Are we on course for a strong second half of the year, or should we hunker down and prepare for a storm?

In this Web conference, Stephen Minton of IDC's Global Technology and Industry Research Organization will discuss the latest IT market data and analysis, answering questions such as:
