Abstract

This IDC study analyzes the IT and business services competitive landscape by examining and comparing the top 10 service providers worldwide. The study looks at the performance of these firms across IDC's three macromarkets (project-based services, outsourcing, and support and training) and macroregions (Americas, EMEA, and Asia/Pacific).

"Compared with last year's ranking of the top 10 worldwide service providers, there were no new entrants in the top 10. Additionally, for the fourth year in a row, the ranking of the top 4 service vendors in terms of services revenue was unchanged, with IBM, HP, Accenture, and Fujitsu remaining the first four, respectively. However, for the first time since before 2006, a new vendor has entered the top 5, with Deloitte overtaking CSC to reach fifth place. The remaining positions were influenced by a significant drop in Lockheed Martin's position (due to divestments) from seventh last year to tenth in 2011. This large drop pushed Capgemini up one spot to the seventh position, while NTT DATA leapfrogged NEC Corp. to reach the eighth position, leaving NEC's position unchanged at the ninth." said Chad Huston, senior analyst for Worldwide Services.
